China lacks fresh water; the fresh water per capita is only one quarter of the global average. To cooperate the government’s water development and protection program, CECIC makes investments on sewage treatment to strengthen investments in the nation’s key environmental protection districts, and by bringing in advanced sewage treatment facilities. These districts include Huai River, Hai River, Liao River, Tai Lake, Dian Lake, acid rain control districts and sulfur dioxide control districts, Beijing, around the Bohai Sea, Three Gorges districts, and along the line of South-to-North Water Diversion Project. It also provides general services including investment, consulting, equipments, project design, construction, operation and management etc. for raw water, water supply, drainage, recycled middle water, desalinization of sea water, industry sewage treatment, etc. The company now has invested and controlled a water supply and sewage treatment capacity of five million tons per day; it plans to become the most powerful in Chinese environmental protection and water supplies industry with the best service in the next ten years.
